Projects Gallery

In due course we will provide detail on projects we are currently or have previously undertaken in the area of SDI - INSPIRE.

Current works include:

  • Geological Survey of Ireland - Metadata migration and CSW web service delivery for INSPIRE compliance
  • Marine Institute, Ireland - Systems development for the Irish Spatial Data Exchange project
  • TurkSat - Feasibility study for a Turkish Spatial Data Infrastructure
  • Environmental Protection Agency, Ireland - Design and development of an INSPIRE/ISO19139 compliant metadata editor (via seconded staff)

Previous projects include strategy studies for an Irish SDI (2005) and a technical business plan for the Irish Spatial data Exchange project (2008).

Senior analyst with Compass, Roger Longhorn, is an Information Policy Advisor to the Coastal and Marine Union (EUCC), the Netherlands; co-Chair of the GSDI Association Legal & Socioeconomic Working Group; member of the International Affairs Working Group of EUROGI (European Umbrella Organisation for GI); editor of GEO:connexion International magazine. Roger provides geospatial policy strategy development and implementation services to a range of organisations in EU Member States. He was a Steering Committee leader on the FP6 INSPIRE implementing rules pilot project MOTIIVE – Marine Overlays on Topography, and a consultant to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) Project in Oostende, Belgium. Roger is joined on the INSPIRE team by additional experieinced technical staff with expertise in practical implementation of solutions, and also by the company founders in strategic advisroy support.
